Three lucky couples hit the town on Wednesday night after an auction at the Cockies Cut Out Ball this past Saturday night.
It is the second year of the Cockies Cut Out Ball, and Sara Jackson of the Pastoralist Association of West Darling and Far West Young Farmers told us, “It was time to spice things up and keep things a bit fun,” when we asked her what the genesis of the idea for the auction was.
“This is the first time we have had an auction like this. We made $1700 from the three dates, which all goes back into the Pastoralists Association and the Far West Young Farmers too,” Ms Jackson told us.
“The dates were made possible by the Broken Hill Pub, who generously donated drinks and meal vouchers and we are just so thankful for that. Their support has been so wonderful, and we look forward to working more with them hopefully in the future.”
The three couples were Samantha Jackson and Steph Garnsey, Kagen Pearce and Maddie Graham, and Archie Jackson and Max Lacey.
The Barrier Truth caught up with he three couples on their night out. When we asked Max how he ended up getting involved with the auction he said, laughing, “I didn’t even know about the dinner – I just thought I was buying Archie.”
