Charity Golf for Ride for Sick Kids

You could almost call it charity golf day season out here in Broken Hill, as hot on the heels of the Outback Emus fundraiser at the Broken Hill Golf Club last weekend, Team Broken Hill from A Ride for Sick Kids are having their annual golf day fundraiser at the same venue.

Team Broken Hill will ride 1000kms next year to raise money for the A Ride for Sick Kids charity.

The day raises funds for the Ronald McDonald House charity that provides housing for families of sick children who are receiving treatment in nearby hospitals.

The current Broken Hill team has raised over half a million dollars over the seven years they have run the event.

Last year they managed to raise enough money for 600 bed nights. That’s enough for a family from Broken Hill to stay in the house for over two years.

Available to members and non-member at the price of just $50, there are over $1000 in prizes up for grabs on the day. Your entry fee will get you your 18 holes, two magic squares, and a soft drink [or bottle of water].

And you also have the chance at winning a brand-new Toyota Yaris if you can be the first person to hit a hole in one at the thirteenth hole at this year’s event.

On top of that there are plenty of prizes available during the event, played under Ambrose rules.

“The winners on the day will win a golf bag each,” said Mark Craven, member of Team Broken Hill.

Ring the course to book your spot to play this Sunday. And make sure you’re at the course no later than 9.15am for a 10am shotgun start.
