Christmas Cakes will be delivered to Meals on Wheels recipients this Wednesday thanks to the help of Broken Hill Rotary and Broken Hill Cake Decorators.
“98 cakes will be delivered on Wednesday the 15th of December, as part of the participants Christmas Dinners,” said Meals on Wheels Kitchen Supervisor Kristy Hunt.
It has been a tough year for volunteer groups with increasing numbers of Meals on Wheels participants and decreasing fund raising events for Rotary according to Vicki Sladden BH Cake Decorators Publicity Officer.
“We appreciate Rotary’s help as we know they have been doing it hard for the past two years,” said Ms Sladden.
For the past 37 years BH Cake Decorators have been making Christmas cakes for Meals on Wheels. BH Rotary have been donating $500 for the ingredients since 1995.
