Do you want to increase your immunity? Would you like to keep your mind sharp?

Need to improve your sequential thinking…then Bridge is calling you.

The Broken Hill Bridge Club (BHBC) is putting the call out for people that would like to learn to play the card game.

The BHBC will be starting a six week course on Sunday, May 29th between 3pm and 5pm, at the Bridge Club rooms, opposite the Civic Centre, in Sturt Park.

The course will cost $60 per person or $50 per person for two people from the same family home.

The course comes with a beginner’s guide handbook.

The new BHBC President Gigi Barbe said you are never too old to learn.

“The earlier you start the better but you can learn to play at any age,”

“Bridge is a lifelong learning process but you can still play well in the beginning and grow in your knowledge. We all make mistakes, even champions,” Ms Barbe said.

With age in mind Ms Barbe is thinking of running student and family lessons in school holidays.

“We would love to hear from people who may like to join the club,” she said.

Mary Hiscox started playing when she was 16, partnering her father, “We won the first game” she said proudly.

Ms Hiscox is now retired and is still playing a cracker of a game.

When you join the club, you automatically become a member of the South Australian Bridge Association and the Australian Bridge Federation and can compete in bigger competitions.

The club always has two events a week, competition Bridge and social Bridge.

On Monday nights the Club has Competition Bridge beginning at 6:45pm, with the card shuffle, games start at 7pm and Social Bridge on Friday starting at 10:45am, with the card shuffle and the games at 11am.
