Barrier Truth brings home Country Press Awards

Country Press NSW held its annual awards last Friday at the Rydges Hotel Sydney Central where there was a good turnout of country and regional papers from across regional New South Wales, and your very own paper, the Barrier Truth, picked up two awards.

A look back at the winning papers, our Year in Review Edition cover and selected interior pages and the the June 22, 2022 edition cover, these editions garnered recognition from Country Press NSW.

Awards were given out by NSW Deputy Premier Paul Toole and Member for Barwon Roy Butler.

The Barrier Truth entered for two categories, Best Front Cover and Best Special Publication.

We were the runner-up in both categories, receiving Highly Commended certificates for our entries.

The Barrier Truth entered the June 22, 2022 edition for Best Front Cover, which readers may recall featured the shock resignation of Umit Agis from his role as the Far West Local Health Service’s Chief Executive.

For the Best Special Publication we submitted the December 29, 2021 Year in Review edition. The edition was also the only runner-up that had its own judges’ report, read out by the presenter as the award was presented.

The Barrier Truth would like to thank the community for all your support and we’re looking forward to providing readers with all the local news there is. We’ll be entering the Country Press Awards again next year.
