Barrier PD capture escapee on the run

A 24-year-old inmate who escaped from custody in Broken Hill this week has been arrested and charged.

Zac Riley was last seen fleeing a corrective services facility attached to Broken Hill Local Court around 1pm on Monday January 15. Barrier Police District were notified and commenced inquiries to locate the escapee.

As part of inquiries, officers attended a home on Creedon St about 9.40am on Thursday January 18 and arrested Mr Riley who was then taken to Broken Hill Police Station where an outstanding warrant for the offence of inmate escape/attempt to escape from lawful custody was executed.

Mr Riley was refused bail and appeared at Broken Hill Local Court on Thursday January 18.
