Sacred Heart Parish is gearing up to host a spirited auction of paintings and artworks in the Parish Centre on Lane Street, this coming Saturday, November 11. The event promises to be a cultural rendezvous for the community, with the aim to raise essential funds. The proceeds will go towards the parish’s Christmas activities and extend a helping hand to Broken Hill families in need during the festive season.
For art lovers and philanthropists looking for a win-win situation, the auction offers an opportunity to acquire unique artworks while contributing to a noble cause. The bidding is set to begin at 2.00 pm, led by a seasoned professional auctioneer, ensuring an authentic auction experience.
The event is also a chance for socialising over a slice of cake. Coffee, tea, and cake will be served at low cost starting from 1pm. Attendees can also take this time to view the exhibits, getting a preview of the items up for auction.
Adding to the event’s attraction, at 1.30 pm, there will be a presentation by two members of the Wilcannia Forbes Diocese. They will share their insights and experiences from their pilgrimage to World Youth Day in Portugal earlier this year, offering attendees a glimpse of the global Catholic youth gathering.
Sacred Heart Parish is also welcoming donations of items for the auction. The event is not only a chance to secure a bargain but also to enjoy the camaraderie of the local community. Parishioners and residents alike are encouraged to mark their calendars and join in on what is expected to be a fun filled Saturday affair.
