And The Camel’s Name is…

Last week we reported Alice the camel had given birth to a healthy calf after around 12 months of pregnancy…and now one of our readers has picked his name.

The Barrier Truth, and Silverton Outback Camels’ competition to name the little bundle of joy sees a lucky Broken Hill winner also receive a free 30-minute camel ride.

We are delighted to announce that the winning entry came from Janet Shamroze and her suggestion Nullah.

As it happens, Nullah is her husbands name, who is of Afghan heritage and a direct descendant of Afghan camaleers in Australia.

Mrs Shamroze was delighted when we called to let her know.

“That’s lovely,” she said. The family are all big fans of the Silverton Outback Camels and plan to get a family portrait of them riding the camels.

“We have three kids and their partners, seven grandkids, eight great grandchildren and we want to arrange a photo of all of them on a camel, said Mrs Shamroze.

For a peek at new calf Nullah, or to take a ride on a camel, head to Silverton Outback Camels.

You can book a ride by calling 0428 602 664.
