Menindee horse trainer Wayne Marsden who frequently travels up to 9 hours to get a race for his horses, said that nothing compares to a “country meeting”. Mr Marsden will be racing 6 of his 9 horses at Broken Hil St Pat’s races next month. The trainer said that he has had twenty-seven meetings put off in the last year and that it is a treat to travel just over an hour to a place he knows he will be “well looked after”. Mr Marsden said that with 8 races, the Broken Hill St Pat’s race has something that caters for everyone.
Day: 26 February 2022
Something to sing about
It can seem like a revolving door in the bush of droughts, bushfires, floods, mouse plagues and COVID but acclaimed country music singer, Sara Storer, will be raising spirits and setting toes tapping in bush towns on the Recovery Outback Tour, presented by the National Recovery and Resilience Agency. Sara will be bringing her brother, Greg, and the famous siblings know first-hand just how challenging life in rural Australia can be, at times. They were born in Wemen in Victoria, where their parents farmed wheat and cattle.
New Library plans
The new library and archive facility are back on the Broken Hill City Council (BHCC) agenda with new plans and a savings of $6 million on the old proposal.
