Fisher Street House lost to fire
Four Fire and Rescue crews attended a fire at a Fisher Street house at 9:15am Tuesday. The brick home was ablaze with smoke billowing from the roof when the Fire Brigades, Police and Essential Energy reached the site 6 minutes after being contacted.
St Patrick’s new office open
Broken Hill St Patrick’s Race Club’s new office is now officially open, right in time for the big day.
Free of charge
Broken Hill’s first Electric Vehicle (EV) fast-charging station was opened Monday at 51 Bromide Street, near the Big Ant, collaborating with the NRMA and the NSW government. The future will be increasingly automated, and the fast charger will charge an average EV in approximately 30 minutes, according to the Minister for Regional Transport and Roads, Sam Farraway.
Shirl at Sunrise
Channel Seven’s Sunrise show about regional destinations was filmed at the Palace Hotel on Monday, and June Bennett was as keen to see what the cat dragged in as her tough character, Shirl.
Major intersections upgrade
Significant upgrades to two intersections, Iodide and Crystal St and Iodide and Argent, have increased safety for all vehicles.
